1916 - one of the earliest military airfields in Latvia, the Czarist russians based their huge Il'ya Mourometz aircraft at Sigulda, one of them
piloted by J.Basko. It was located on the north side of the Vidzeme highway.
October - November 1919 - Sigulda airfield was a base for Latvian aviation operations in the Latgale campaign.
1941 - 1944 (German Occupation) - (Luftwaffe units based in Sigulda during the German occupation)
