in exhibitions in Europe and abroad.

He flew his modified Fokker, carrying a 500 kg payload, to an altitude of
6,485 metres above sea level, beating the old record of 5,992 metres.
The Argentine Press, reporting on the achievement, states that Balodis
has completed over 30,000 flights in his career.
Bruvelis provides more detail regarding O.Balodis: He reports that
Balodis obtained his pilot's license ( #408) on May 20, 1913. He also reports
that Balodis died in 1924 (still in Buenos Aires, Argentina) in a glider accident.
