May 17, 1923 - begins the flight instructor course.
March 7,1924 - graduates from flight school, pilot instructor course.
September 1924 - signs a committment to remain in the Aviation Regiment for at least another two years.
After this period of committment was through, Gulbis went to the Aizsargi Aviacija
1931 - at the Aviator Society's Air Festival at Spilve, Gulbe flies a biplane while German daredevil
Oskars Dimpfelis performed a wing-walking act.
1934 - Serves as secretary of the "Latvijas Republikas lidotaju klubs." (Latvian Republic Aviators Club).
September 8, 1935 - Participates in the Aviation Festival at Riga/Spilve.
September 1935 - as one of only a handful of Aizsargi aviators willing to fly the Gourdou Lesseure, Gulbis
flies the unpopular airplane at the Ikskile air festival.
June 1, 1936 - Participates in the Aviation Festival at Rujiena.
June 21, 1936 - Participates in the Aviation Festival at Valmiera.
July 12, 1936 - Participates in the Aviation Festival at Kuldiga.
August 2, 1936 - Participates in the Aviation Festival at Rujiena.
September 27-28, 1936 - flying a KOD-1, participates in the first "Flight Around Latvia" contest.
May 15, 1937 - honored as the best Aizsargu aviator of the year.
July 25, 1937 - Participates in the Aviation Festival at Rujiena.
August 22, 1937 - Participates in the Aviation Festival at Valmiera.
September 26-27, 1937 - flying a KOD-1 with Rudolfs Celms as observer, participates in the second "Flight Around Latvija" contest.
August 7, 1938 - Participates in the Aviation Festival at Ventspils.
October 1-2, 1938 - flying a KOD-2 and with Jekabs Morziks as observer, participates in the third "Flight Around Latvia" contest.
During the Soviet occupation, Gulbis was arrested and deported to Siberia, returning to Latvia only many years later.
