PAKULIS, HERMANIS

• October 15, 1912 - Born, in Jaunpiebalgas pagasts.
• Completed his early education in Jaunpiebalga, then attended the Riga Valsts Technikum.
• 1932 - employed in highway design/construction in Smiltene
• 1935 - Joins the Aviation Regiment.
• 1936 - Graduates from flight school.
• September 26-27, 1937 - participates in the second "Flight Around Latvija" contest and finishes in 2nd place.
• Continues his studies, now at the University of Latvia, engineering faculty.
• December 1943 (German occupation) - serves in the Legion Aviation unit.
• 1945-1946 - spends one year in POW camp in Siberia.
• 1946 - returns to Latvia
• Employed in the project planning division, Cesis.
• 1997 - Awarded the Order of the Three Stars
