• May 17, 1923 - begins flight school... Rank: Sargeant
• March 7, 1924 - graduates from flight school. Rank: 1st Sargeant
• September 1924 - signs a committment to remain with the Aviation Regiment for at least two more years.
• Transferred to the naval aviation section.
• 1934 - logs a total of 19 hours, 35 minutes flight time.
• July 23, 1935 - checks out on the Fairey Seal.
