WHAT: Naval Squadron completes a goodwill flight around
            Northern Europe

DETAILS
The route of this goodwill flight was to be Liepaja - Klaipeda (Lithuania) - Pucka (Poland) -
Copenhagen (Denmark) - Esbjerg (Denmark) - Amsterdand (Holland) - Dover (England) - Southend (England) -
Bologna (France) - Helderun (Denmark) - Oslo (Norway) - Geteborg (Sweden) - Stockholm (Sweden) -
Helsinki (Finland) - Tallin (Estonia) - Liepaja. The only deviation from the planned route took
place on the flight to Dover, when two of the aircraft remained in Calais, France overnight and
made the crossing to Dover the following morning.
The flight was made by three Fairey Seal floatplanes. Flight crew as follows:
Seal #28 Pilot: A.Zarins / Passengers: J.Indans, A.Lidaka (navigator)
Seal #29 Pilot: K.Ercums / Passengers: E.Balodis, A.Eglitis (mechanic)
Highlights of the trip included a visit to the Fokker assembly plant and a demonstration flight
of the new Fokker C10. While in England, they also visited the Fairey facility where the seaplanes
were originally constructed.
Total flight time was 35 hours, 55 minutes, covering 6,210 km.
