Considered: Projected for purchase in 1940 or 1941
Type: Fighter aircraft
NOTES
The purchase of Messerschmidts was a long-term project. In the late 1930s the Latvian military was looking to acquire
a technologically advanced light fighter. This would be a transitional aircraft to prepare their pilots for the eventual purchase of
either Hurricanes, Spitfires or Messerschmidt Bf-109s. However, as war became more and more likely the source nations
looked to their own military readiness and the purchase of such technology from abroad became impossible.
